Developing a Global Mindset for Women Entrepreneurs Connecting the Dots – Upcoming Free Networking and Learning Events

Magnet Export Business Portal is excited to announce our involvement in an upcoming free learning and networking two-part event, on July 18th, that it is co-hosting with the Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade and the Organization of Women in International Trade, Toronto Chapter (OWIT).

The first part of the event is a free workshop, hosted by the Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade and brought to you by the Canada-Ontario Export Forum (COEF), a partnership of federal, provincial, municipal and non-profit organizations all dedicated to helping Ontario companies export. The event will take place in Toronto at the Ted Rogers school of Management (TRSM) and is called Developing a Global Mindset for Women Entrepreneurs. In this half day workshop, you and 20-30 other businesses will learn what it takes to become a successful exporter. You’ll also receive an overview of the key export support resources and partners that can help you get ready to go global. Lunch will be provided.

This event will take place from 1:00-4:00pm.For more information and to register, click here.

The second part of the event, following the workshop, is a panel discussion hosted by Magnet Export Business Portal in partnership with OWIT, held in the Cara Commons room at TRSM from 4:30-7:00pm.

The panel, “Connecting the dots“, will be moderated by Dr. Wendy Cukier, Founder and Director of the Diversity Institute at Ryerson University and feature the distinguished panelists; Suzanne Drisdelle of the Ministry of International Trade, Anita Agrawal of OWIT, and Gwenaele Montagner of World Trade Centre Toronto. The expert panel discussion will explore topics such as: What is the business case for exporting? Where can you find the tools and resources to get started? How do women plug into the entrepreneur ecosystem in Canada to accelerate export growth? Where are the emerging export opportunities?

Both events are focused on women in business, and so our hopes are that those businesses who register for the morning workshop will stay for the evening panel discussion and networking session. We will have seating for 50 individuals as well as additional standing space. Since both events have separate registration, if an individual wishes to attend both, they must register for both.
