Following the Energy Summit 2018, hosted by Canadian Industry Partnership for Energy Conservation (CIPEC), Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium (EMC) and Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), it was announced that EMC has partnered with Magnet Export Business Portal.
EMC is a national not-for-profit organization, dedicated to helping manufacturers grow and become more competitive. EMC is Canada’s largest manufacturing consortium and is one of the most active manufacturing organizations in North America.
The Energy Summit allowed for the opportunity to learn about realistic, available, working solutions that can provide a competitive edge in today’s business environment. This included: how energy management systems can improve profitability; how companies and organizations are leading and innovating; carbon cutting and clean technologies; and practical energy solutions for your facility.
The summit also featured innovative and inspiring keynote speakers, solutions-based technical sessions and professional development workshops, facility tours showing off leading edge technologies, and CIPEC Leadership Awards that recognized Canada’s energy management industry leaders.
Attendees included: industry decision makers; plant and operations/facility managers; chief engineers, corporate energy and sustainability leaders; Canadian resource developers and suppliers; energy efficiency experts; energy service providers; federal, provincial and municipal governments; and academic institutions and researchers.
There were more than 50 keynote speakers. Highlights from the two-day event include; Aqeel Zaidi shares strategies to reduce Ontario’s electricity grid’s greenhouse gas emissions using CHP systems; Greg Leng of RETScreen Software presenting the multiple functions and advantages of the RETScreen software for renewable energy projects, and Andren Bowerbank of EllisDon Corp. presenting about the need for industry response to make buildings more efficient and meet global energy goals.
